Public awareness of contagious diseases

Introduction: Restrictions against the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in a decrease other contagious diseases. However, their prevention and treatment are still topical issue.
 Purpose: To present public awareness on infectious diseases taking into account knowledge of people with medical education.
 Material method: The study was conducted by means author's questionnaire. 158 questionnaires were collected analysed.
 Results: Men women different age took part survey. Half respondents had education. analysis showed that as many 89.2% aware pathogenic factor influenza, which is virus. Only small percentage information regarding number influenza infections Poland (10.8%) worldwide (21.5%). Medics this 10.0% 28.8% respectively. Influenza admitted 81.0% respondents, while for disease (except COVID-19) result 75.3%. indicated most common route transmission droplet (66.5%), fever typical symptom (81.0%). Washing hands turned out to be important prophylactic behaviour (50.6%) especially students (93.7%).
 Conclusions: Awareness among Poles not at highest level. Those education slightly higher knowledge, but it necessary introduce educational programmes update knowledge.
